speakers\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<h2>\n\t\t\tWelcome\n\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t<p>Knowledge leads the way<\/p>\t\t\n\t<p>With Covid-19, we have a new infection among us that generates chronic disease; Long Covid.<\/p>\n<p>Several of the patients fulfil the diagnostic criteria for ME, thus linking these patient groups together.<\/p>\n<p>ME is a serious illness that also affects children and young people. The most mildly affected lose at least 50% of their previous level of function. Many patients are either housebound or bedridden. The very sickest spend years in dark rooms and are completely dependent on nursing care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In most cases, the disease has started in the wake of an infection.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ME has been poorly understood and we don't know how best to treat the disease. This is a source of great frustration for both healthcare professionals and patients.<\/p>\n\t<p>Due to its large scale, Long Covid is now one of the diseases that the international community is investing heavily in gaining more knowledge about.<\/p>\n<p>Such increased research efforts, more professionals in the field and more experience gained in the clinic offer hope for a better future for these patients and more tools for the healthcare system to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This conference will give you an insight into recent research as well as experiences from clinical practice.
